hmmm. about 900ish bC a writer associated with solomon argued that yeah, it had all
been done before.

imho one of the most dangerous traps is the harkening to the "new" only to find it is
last week's fish wrapped in fresh paper.

occasionally, one cvan find truly fresh insite into a large mess of facts and trends,
and whatevers. the last time i had that happen was when i re-read century of light.

the time before that was when i read it the first time.

but the question raises again my point of a day or 3 ago---scholars and academics have
a direct responsibility imho to make this sutff appear relevant (on the grounds that
it is) to those looking for answers to their life's troubles.

frinstance after only sbout 81 weekly repitions of commentaries about one thing or
another at sunday classes the community where i usual do sunday is relatively sure
that if i start a sentence with "the 313" it is gonna meander its way to a sense of
lets get up and do soemthing.

and to thjat point and the overall, i offer the following quote:

"O listeners, know that the purpose of telling the story of this person and others
like him is to give encouragement to the sympathisers in order to arise in the service
of His cause. It also serves to punish the neglectful by reminding that this Cause was
not futile, and groups of commoners did not volunteer to be massacred in vain."
--Haji Mirza Jani Kashani - Nuqtat-ul-Kaaf pp 196

may we all holdf that thought in mind and learn to tell the stories.

9 a.m. in manhattan, dust swirls around."
