The Avenger had a (not-so-)high speed contact with a 100cc projectile that shot out from a parking lot onto the main road and rammed into the gear lever and wham - no footpeg. Dude (student variety) immediately apologized profusely, and i was glad he wasnt too hurt or anything. Said bye after calculating I could afford the repair more than he could.
Anyhow. Condition: * "premium" bike with a footpeg missing. Gear lever bent back to functional condition somehow. * bike and rider with obvious signs of a minor scrape - nothing major tho Off to Khivraj just before the Airport Rd flyover step 1. "go around to the svc stn behind" - fair request. Complied. step 2. "hmm, u'll have to leave the bike - takes 1.5/2 hrs". What!!! A footpeg ? (I didnt ask for the gear lever replacement - was in a hurry). Anyhow, said ok, what time do i get it ? step 3. "Go to the first floor and find out if the LHS front footpeg is available for the Avenger in the parts bin..." WTF! (sorry, mods) Dude, its ur svc stn, ur parts shop, u have a bruised bike and customer and you ask me to find my way up to the first flr and.... Rode away imdtly. Next - Popular near my office (8th blk Kgla) - "Svc station is on the road parallel to JNC sir". Oh man. Svc Stn JNC - "no Avenger parts/quick jobs here sir", says the watchie(!!!), "you'll have to go to Khivraj"!!!!!! Nahiiiiiiiinnnnn..... So limp mode again to office - half the IT corridor covered without decent help/acceptable BAL customer svc. Was also a little appalled at how the Khivraj svc area appeared - lousily dressed, vaguely organized. Oops, my opinion of BAL efforts had merely optimistically gone up based on the AS experience. Average rating revised downwards. Venkat - u need to expand - at least a small jobs place around Kgla/ORR, which maybe doubles as an evaluation/estimate+pickup point too. I miss AS - booohooo..... Now, about the KTM etc.....[BAL - if u're listening] Definitely not for moi if its not Venkat Supported.
