To all techies..,
It all started when finally, it was time to
change the clutch on my classic P150 (36752 km on odo). The change went about
seemingly well and was careful to run-in again (1500kms). After an early
service and oil change I did a trip to Chennai. After about a 100 odd kms I
realized that the engine was kinda hotter than it normally is.... I had lunch
at a joint by the road side and let the bike cool down a bit. After lunch,
checked the oil and LO!!! whatever oil was in it would not even wet the dip
stick!!!!!, I am sure there was oil on the bike the day before, as I had
checked it...... there were no traces of any leak. I had a half litre pack of
oil with me, filled it up and rode carefully for another 40 odd kms to Mahabs
where from where I bought another l/2 ltr of the same oil and filled up. As I
had an important meeting very soon, ripped all the way to chennai. The next
morning checked the oil.... it was ok and I was left
wondering... I started back to Pondy and drove at sane speeds back home...
The next day checked the oil and again the oil would not even wet the dip
stick!!!. Took the bike to our local Bajaj Auth Service Centre and explained
the problem... I was told that engine would have to be re-bored, piston
assembly changed/ rings replaced etc etc.. Now guys I take good care of my
bike..... I do rip my bike at times... but thats about it...... have anyone
had an engine job done at less than 40k kms??
Techies...... what should I do....... have the problem rectified as adviced or
change the bike...
yellllllllp
