Hi Varun, Check if there is water 'entry' during rain/waterwash through the 
petrol-lid-airhole. The drain pipe may be clogged as well. I wont expect water 
in petrol from pumps [other liquids like kerosene oil perhaps].

This thing happend to me whaich was quite surprising.. ...
 
I have taken Rs 500 petrol from one ofthe petrol pumps in delhi!!!!!!!
After some days, my bike start giving me jerks!When taken to service station he 
cleaned up the uel tank and to my surprise it was found that there was arount 
2-2.5ltrs. of water with just 1 liter of petrol!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
