Hi PUGs, It has been a very very long time since I've visited the group because mostly work and not being in India have kept me busy. Just to introduce myself again, I am Adrian from Aurangabad in Maharashtra. I own a Blue Pulsar 180 DTSi, purchased in December 2003, which just completed 5 years.
I do apologise for posting a query as soon as I return to the group. While I did find quite a few conversations about transporting bikes around India, I am not sure if there's a conversation about the formalities involved. I will be shifting to Noida later next week and was wondering about the entire RTO/Registration/NOC thing. While I primarily have no problems getting an NOC before leaving from Aurangabad and travelling with the bike on the same train, I will not be able to register it in Delhi/Noida atleast for a couple of months after reaching since I will not have a residence for that time. I would like to know if I will be able to ride the bike for that long before getting it registered in Delhi/Noida? I have been made to beleive that if the NOC is more than a couple of months old, the RTO in Delhi/Noida may harrass me when I intend to get it registered. What if any, is the legal maximum I can ride in another state before I have to get it registered? I hope there is someone in the group who has gone through this procedure to ease my worries. The other option for me is to leave the bike at home just now and come down in a couple of months to take it along over a weekend. This could be quite a hassle considering it takes 24 hours one way from Delhi to Aurangabad. Moreover, I could really benefit from having the bike in Noida to hunt around for accommodation. Once again, apologies for raising a query as soon as I return. I am really looking forward to meeting the Delhi PUGs soon. Cheers, Adrian [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
