Menurut teori yg saya pernah tau Nitrogen sifatnya yang tidak mudah berubah (tekanan relatif stabil) apabila terjadi perubahan temperatur bila dibandingkan dengan unsur - unsur gas lainnya. Sehingga pada saat kendaraan berjalan, tekanan didalam ban cenderung tetap walaupun temperatur meningkat
udara biasa kandungan terbesarnya O2 (oksigen) dan campuran gas2 lain shg berat molekul lebih besar dari pada N2 (nitrogen), jadi N2 di ban lebih ringan.
