My
Friends,
I am
absolutely agree if this letter , which is written by one of the biggest travel
buro from Germnay, sent to Bupati Buleleng also. Indeed this letter will give
more pressure to him to cancel the plan. As far as I know, if he didn't lie, he
need us to look for some reasons, how to reject this old power plant. One month
is already over when he promised us to postpone the project.
Best
regards
Gde
Wisnaya

Dear Ms.Beate Dotterweich,
The letter of Mr.Ruediger Berger from
Explorer Fernreisen, Germany, is very reasonable and well expressed. It
consists of the real situations of what I think and feel about Bali
recently. Please try to get more opinions about this power plant project
plan from overseas people. Therefore, the people involved in the decision
making of this project plan will be more aware about the negative impacts of
this plan to the local economy and environment.
Has this letter been sent to the City
Major of Singaraja too ?
Warm Regards,
Ngurah

Dear Pak
Wisnaya,
this Facsimile was sent today to the Governor of Bali.....
Many greetings
Beate
Dear Mr. Governor,
I just returned from your beautiful island Bali to Germany. During my stay
in Lovina I learned, that there are existing plans to install a power plant
in the north of Bali respective in the Lovina area. With all respect to
produce more electricity for the convenience of all Balinese people and
development of the infrastructure of the island, this tourism area is not
the right place for such a plan, as this now 30 years old power plant using
crude oil will destroy the beauty of this landscape and on a longer term it
also will destroy the sea area and the coral reef in front. Nobody can
deny, that once oil will drop into the sea and will spoil the unique
underwater world.
As you are in a very early planning stadium, we k indly ask you, to proof
your plan again and look for an alternative spot for a power plant like
this. Nobody can guarantee, that such an old power plant will cause any
technical problems, which will affect the tourism industry in this lovely
area. Perhaps there is also the possibility to use solar energy, as you
have 365 days of sun per year, and to co-operate with any company selling
such solar projects?
In times, when the economy is strongly affected due to the Kuta tragedy
and its consequences, such an installation will cause more problems for the
future recovering of the Balinese economy. As I learned, nearly 80% of all
Balinese people receive most of their income through the tourism industry,
this step will spoil more than it will be helpful. As I just received the
message, that Garuda Indonesia will cancel the flights to Bali by November
15th from Frankfurt and by January 22nd from Amsterdam and London,
everybody should do everything to improve the tourism business to Bali for
a better future of this unique and most beautiful island. We are a German
tour operator and send people to Bali since many years and will do so in
the future, so it is also in our interest, to stabilise the business as well.
By this opportunity we do not want to miss to condolence You and all the
people of Bali to what happens in Kuta. We feel with you and the people who
lost their beloved ones. May such terrible things never happen again.
Meanwhile I remain with
kind regards
Ruediger Berger
