Angels......Om Suastiastu...
Since we started as Angels, we have accomplished the following:
For education,
§ We distributed more than 8,000 packages of pencils, notebooks, and
stationery for school children throughout Bali;
§ We provided 2,000 uniforms and shoes for school children throughout
Bali;
§ We gave 200 scholarships for students from elementary to university
and professional.
§ With our scholarship, Anom Parwati will be a midwife this year.
§ We supported cultural programs, for example the Tulus Ngayah Cultural
Festival, Denpasar Art Center.
For health care,
§ We provided health care to more than 3,000 women and their families;
§ We educated thousands more people about reproductive health, HIV and
STD's.
For infra-structure improvements,
§ We installed piping for clean water for 5,700 people at Sukasada,
Buleleng, Singaraja;
§ We built an 800-meter, up-hill road with 130 head-of-families in
Dusun Butiyang.
§ We built 7 water-catchments for schools
It changes their lives completely.
In micro-finance,
At Banjar Kiadan Plaga, Badung, with 175 heads-of- families,
§ We encouraged communities to start cooperatives;
§ We supported poor farmers to buy 6 cows.
Concerning the Environment,
§ We supported environmental education, composting and garbage
management;
§ We supported dialogues and initiatives of NGO's on global warming;
§ We planted thousands of trees, both orchard and forest;
§ We designed, wrote and published books and games to educate all ages
on health and the environment.
We are personally visiting our target communities all over Bali, listening,
identifying their problems, their needs and their solution..
Now, what are our plans for the future?
And what are we doing now?
Fighting ignorance! Open the path for children of Bali.
We would like to invite more people to support our ADOPT A CHILD PROGRAM to
sponsor their education.
In this coming year, we will continue women's health care and HIV education.
We will continue the loans to small farmers for cows. We will continue
all the programs of Education, Micro-finance, Health, Infra-structure and
Environment.
We are currently working with the community of Pesiapan Tabanan, with
approximately 400 heads-of-families. There is a large red-light district in the
middle of this community. Health care, HIV education and information is
critical to these people. Just last week there was an HIV death here. We are
scheduled to serve them on Monday, July 28th . You're welcome to come along.
This year we will add Breast Cancer Awareness and support.
We are also concentrating on Bali Aga community at Banjar Madia, on top of the
mountain Abang, above Desa Trunyan, with 167 heads-of-families.
No road access, No water, No electricity, No school, No health-care facilities
We are right now building a road to connect Banjar Madia with the world. We
are assisting them to get electricity. When the village has electricity, we
can begin to solve the water supply problem. The water is 330 meters below the
village in Lake Trunyan. We need 900 meters of pipe and three pumps. We have
involved professional technicians, government officials, leaders, villagers,
and it's all happening as we speak.
Angels, we do not give. We share, and with that strategy we empower the
community to think and help themselves.
