Di sini biasanya sejak dini anak-anak sudah diajarkan untuk BAB/BAK di kamar kecil (ditatur), namun sifatnya hanya pembiasaan. Kalau mengutip pendapat dokter Brazelton sih usia 2 tahun masih terlalu dini untuk diajari menggunakan toilet, tapi tetap bisa dilakukan sepanjang si anak sudah menunjukkan tanda-tanda kesiapan. There is no right age to toilet train a child. While children begin to master most of the necessary skills between the ages of 18 and 30 months, your toddler may not be ready to master toilet training until as late as the end of her fourth year. The more ready your child is when you start the toilet training, the more quickly it will go. But don't create a deadline; that can put unnecessary pressure on your child and undermine success. Show her the steps, but leave each one to her. Your child may be ready if she: Can imitate your behavior, including your bathroom habits and wearing underpants (basically, she's demonstrating that she wants to be like everyone else around her) Has started putting things where they belong and has an interest in creating order in the world around her Demonstrates independence by showing signs of wanting to control herself rather than being controlled (by saying "no," for example) Can tell you first when she is "going" and then when she needs to "go" Can express an interest in toilet training and likes to follow you into the bathroom Has regular, predictable bowel movements Can pull her pants up and down / on and off Understands what wet and dry mean and has words for urine and bowel movements Can walk and is ready to sit down on the potty Not every skill needs to be in place before you can begin. Instead, look for a general trend toward readiness. At your next regular checkup, talk to your health care provider about toilet training.
