I have Balsa 2.2.5 built from source (SuSE 9.1) and working fine. I desired to build 2.2.6 to get the the reply-dont-include-me update; I thought this should be easy with a minor revision change.

Ooops, it seems it has not been tested with gtk2 older than 2.4.0. Try adding following function as a stop gap to eg. libbalsa/address-entry.c or src/sendmsg-window.c
