There were also some deprecation issues, but after a lengthy patch, master now builds for me. Migrating from deprecated APIs is handled with conditional compilation, so it should also build with older Gtk+-2.0, but I haven't tested that.
I forgot to mention: it also was tested only --without-gnome, so --with-gnome might raise some more issues. Peter
