Hi all,

I still see some issues regarding sorting and threading in Balsa.

After receiving my message I sent tonight (“Re: [Patch] Crypto eye candies”),
it was not added to the thread, but showed up /somewhere/ in the list.
Typically, switching threading off and on again helps – but after deactivating
threading, the list is more or less disarranged; see the attached screenshot,
and watch the arrow fir the date (“Datum”) column…

Ouch! Yes, deactivating threading leaves the mailbox bizarrely unsorted.

Failing to add a new message to the correct thread has been around for a while.
Complete rethreading is time-consuming, so we need to economize on it, but
failing to place a new message correctly is worse.

So we need to be less stingy in scheduling sorting and threading…

Re-activating threading shows the list as expected.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Albrecht.
Hi Albrecht,

I sometimes have seen similar lack of threading for newly added messages (moved by rules)
but I just clicked twice on the "Date" header, and in one of the other of the
resorting, the threading got fixed. Probably a different issue, but who knows.

Jack

Yes, toggling threading off and on again seems to fix it, but we shouldn't need
to!

Will look into it…

Peter
