Brigadier le Comte Alain de Mylcandonai, OC Horse Guards Brigade to, The Officers and Men of the Dragoon Guards and Queen's Own Carabiniers, Greetings! My Compliments, Gentlemen, Congratulations upon and excellent month's work. As a Brigade we could not have done better, fulfilling our orders with distinction and completely crushing the enemy. I am pleased to see that the brigade tactics we practiced so diligently in April are now beginning to pay dividends. My pride in leading what must now be the most feared and effective cavalry brigade on the battlefields of Europe cannot be expressed. I see that at regimental, there is still some little improvement to be made. Lt Colonel le d'Erring is to be congratulated on the improved performance in comparisson with April, but has still to match the superb job Colonel de Wich managed in that month. To Colonel de Wich I would say let this be a lesson that it is never safe to rest on one's laurels. The honours are about equal where mentions and promotions are concerned (16 for the Dragoons and 18 for Carabiniers). I expect to see these scores double over the Summer Campaign, gentlemen, or I'll know the reason why! Due to our pursuit of the fleeing enemy outstripping the court reporters I am pleased to say that I shall have the honour of leading you over the Summer Campaign. You may count upon two things: we will be charging to the sound of the guns at every opportunity and will carry victory upon our sabre points! Brigadier de Mylcandonai
