Gerard,

Congratulations on your promotion! Another month should see us home to
loving arms. Please reserve an evening to gather and mourn those who will
not return. It has been a glorious; yet costly; march! Consensus at HQ
points the blame for those losses at Baron Cande. His re-supply logistics
failed miserably. Nothing is sadder than brave men dieing because they
have no powder. At least they showed the spanish, well, the use of a
bayonet.

The Colonel has threatened, twice, to boot the Baron from the regiment.
Why the Baron does not have the honor to resign is beyond me. Yet enough of
the Baron; it is your day. Best regards!

In The Loyal Service of His Majesty,

                                Major La Pointe

[ OOC: AlP asks the Col. to boot the LtCol (npc) from the regiment or
have the LtCol resign gracefully. AlP will try to influece the Col.
       to do so. ]
