Soldiers:
As per the information you have seen from Lt. Gen Chev. Jacques
Inzebox, I will be assuming command of the Brigade. I look forward to
working with you all. A few minor items:
1) I would like to host you all at the Fleur so I can get to know you as
individuals. I understand the one-upsmanship practiced between some of our
regiments. Please keep it discreet.
2) In relation to said one-upsmanship, I will not stand for insults to
other regiments. A little rivalry is understandable, and good for the Army
and yourselves. But let us keep it under control. To the best of my
knowledge this has not been a problem of late, but I wanted to get this
stated up front.
3) I expect to take the Brigade to the front for December. I know we all
have other things to do, so I will be reasonable in entertaining specific
requests for exemption from service. In particular, I understand that
Goverment ministers have multiple calls on their activities, and may not be
able to join us in these exercises.
The reception will be in week 1.
Yours,
Brigadier Baron Soire de Success
