Brigadier de Success,

I am afraid that I will not be able to attend your
wedding.
Immediately after the retirement of M. don Alferwan,
I decided to take the regiment for the front in January.
The KM have had so many changes in the ranks lately, that
I find it neccessary to get some immediate practice at
the front.
I am however certain that we will get to know eachother
during the many months at the front thereafter...

Yours,

Robert de l'Aubergine
