Soldiers:
As you know, some elements of the Guards Brigade are already at the
front sharpening their skills on the enemies. The rest of us will join
them this month. Special circumstances (particularly government
appointments) will be granted dispensation to stay in Paris. Please notify
myself and your regimental commander. This includes the individuals who
notified me last month.
I will note in passing that I am still discussing with military
headquarters who is actually responsible for the final decision on who is
excused from joining the brigade at the front.
