The winter campaign season came to a close with a cursed, sad note. The
brave EdD was slain commanding the 2nd Battalion of the KM despite
recognized military ability. For his many public services rendered to our
fair country, Le Roi elevated him to the title of Vicomte before he was
interred in his family mausoleum.
The following month saw the death of NlB who was elevated to the title
of Baron for his long efforts on behalf of his king. And what else, you
ask, unites these two? Both men had just accepted the office of
Commissioner of Public Safety hours before being killed in battle. Given
these circumstances, it isn't difficult to see why Alain de Mylcandonai
nominated Guillaume Grosscanard for the office come March.
And lastly, as if fate was not yet satisfied, the renowned EdB - a
brave man from the time of Duc Zer - gave his life for the Royal Foot
Guards. Long will this campaign season be darkly remembered.

Moving quickly to less grave matters, Rougeur Homard - a one-time
priest if the talk be true - married Michelle de Mylcandonai. His
gathering the second week of February was fairly well-attended, though
perhaps not as boisterous as the last few bachelor parties. This was
followed by an intimate marriage ceremony attended by close friends and no
less a personage than His Majesty. The only other party of note was held
at Hunters by Jerar Marseile and his lovely Thora.
In the court of love, Antoine Culvert d'Eau stole Lucy from the
gentleman who is perhaps the best duellist in all France - Axel von Fersen.
And in a fit of madness, Beauregard Borden attempted to court Eva, who is
the wife of Argenta du Pheasante - another phenomenal duellist. March
should prove interesting for those two men. Jean Baptiste Doutron won
Connie, JdL won Sylvia, and Pierre Robeirre won Jacqui, but while Ombre de
la Soir beat BJ to court Penny, she turned him down.
