To the esteemed Major le Vicomte Alain de Sevigny (AdS), Royal Foot Guards
Commissioner of Public Safety

Sir, I thank you for your concern and your intervention in the rather tawdry affair concerning myself and le Chevalier, Major Jean Baptiste Doutron. I assume that a man of your high standing has no personal cause to side so obviously with the Major, and therefore again acknowledge my gratitude for your reflections on the matter.

As it happens, I am weary of the constant correspondence with Doutron, and, in order that your mistaken notion that I am a coward is immediately corrected, I will immediately instruct my second to approach Doutron to formalise arrangements to settle this unfortunate incident.

Your humble and obedient servant

Captain Henri Serf-Edly (HSE), Grand Duke Max Dragoons
