General le Duc Alain de Mylcandonai, OC Second Division, to
Captain le Chevalier Diego de la Vega, OC B Troop, Dragoon Guards,
Greetings!
Mon Cher Diego,
Congratulations indeed upon your knighthood. I see that you have outshone
here, since I had to wait until I was Major before receiving my own. Well
done, mon cher future brother-in-law - Nicole will indeed be proud!
I regret that I will not be able to attend your wedding since I already have
another appointment at the end of September which I may not cancel - no
matter how much I might like to. Perhaps this may be for the best? From past
experience, junior officers such as yourself and your colleagues are likely
to feel a little self-conscious when under the close and presumed critical
eye of a General, and I would hate to put a dampener on the proceedings.
I hope that everything runs smoothly this time - the thought of your
festivities will be a source of great comfort to when they occur, I am
certain - and wish both Nicole and yourself every possible happiness.
With My Very Best Wishes,
His Grace le Duc Alain de Mylcandonai.
