Captain de Lacey
On the basis that I did indeed met with Captain Serf-Edly at the agreed-upon
place and time I am puzzled by your recent correspondence. As the young
Captain would attest if he had not been suddenly called away from Paris, we
waited your arrival for at least an hour. It was by mutual consent that the
duel took place with the only weopons available to us and I admire his
courage for making the suggestion.
I cannot help but wonder if your diatribe is simply an attempt to hide your
failings in this matter. If you had managed to get out of bed and turned up
with the rapiers at the appointed time, this sorry episode could have been
settled before breakfast. As for cowardice, I am not the one calling the
other out and demanding to use my regimental weopon, to the others obvious
detriment.
I will refuse your call on the grounds that you have no cause, and are in
fact the guilty party. However, never let it be said that I have withdrawn
or refused a matter of honour. Therefore, I shall consent to meet you at a
place and time of your chosing, but only if you agree to fight with foils,
so neither of us has an unfair advantage. Refusal of this simple condition,
will simply show France who is the true coward.

(OOC: Does anyone actually know what went wrong with the orders. Here's an
excerpt from my orders last time around. If we are trying to fight with
non-regimental weopons again, it would be nice to get it right this time.
