Sir,
As you may know, for the last three months I have been living a life of
leisure. And barring an incident with a Dragon at the ball, has been thankfully
quiet. My good lady Lucy has certainly welcome having my undivided attention,
however of late she has asked me when I would following my stated aim of returning
to the military. It seems that I have been getting ' under foot' recently and
appearing
to listless at times.
While ideally I would like to gain an appointment to his majesty's army, it has
been pointed out to me that the army structure is due for reorganization in February.
So I find myself either sitting twiddling my thumbs, driving Lucy up the wall, or I
find an
appointment for the winter months.
Therefore I have resolved to inquire with your good self about applying for
the position of Minister of Supply. As a gentleman of long military standing and one
the high ranking officer available, I feel I would bring sold understanding of the need
of our armies. I can testify that indeed an army does indeed "march on it's
stomachs",
Experience has shown that men, lacking food and decent equipment, will fail against an
enemy, no matter how superior numbers are.
