Mon Cher Rascale,
Sorry to be tardy in responding but I was on brief leave to visit my
Papa. The old Vicomte doesn't tolerate the Winter weathr as he used to when a
younger man. I convinced him and Maman to spend the next two months in the
south. I applaud your efforts on behalf of the GDMD and agree with Chevalier
Marseile that you should attempt to lead your squadron. I also agree that
January is no time to be travelling to the front. However, we both need to
work with our troops in a battlefield setting and suggest we take them to the
front together in February. I can't fathom that any gentleman would miss Duc
Mylcandonai's batchelor event. Except for the Wedding itself. or a Royal
reception, it ranks at the top for aspiring officers.
Sorry that you didn't captivate the young beauty last month. I'm sure
maturity and rank will solve the problem.
                                                                      Your
friend and compatriot,
                                                                      Pierre
la Granouille, GDMD
