Sir, I have just
arrived in Paris from my parent's estates in Northern France. Although my
name is German sounding I am mostly definately a Frenchman and a honest Catholic
to boot. I have noticed that there is a vacancy in your fine regiment for
a Captain and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to allow me to join
France's finest cavalry regiment. I have a reasonable grasp of tactics but
would enjoy expanding on this whilst serving with you and the Dragoon
Guards.
