I must apologize for taking so long to respond to
your invitation. Anna and I had decided to escape from Paris for just a
short while to explore others parts of His Majesty's realm. I must say
that the countryside is particularly lovely this year. Hopefully you and
Her Highness will find opportunity to do the same.
But on to business. Anna and I will be
delighted to join you for the festivities during the fourth week. And also
for the planning session during the first.
By the way, have you heard that upon my return I
have submitted my application to be appointed as Minister of War? I have
no idea if His Majesty will look favorably upon my application, but I will
certainly maintain a positive viewpoint. A word or two on my behalf would
certainly be appreciated, but I realize you have your own concerns.
