Dear Sir:
I write to inquire about your
current position. As your Brigade Major, Guards Brigade, I cannot determine from
the most recent Greasy Pole your currrent position or the current commander of
the Guards Brigade. I am confused as to whom I should report in the last month
of my current assignment. I would be pleased to follow in your service if
appropriate for my rank, or would reapply as brigade major for the Summer
campaign. Do you have any feeling if BBG Penmarch might assume command of the
Guards Brigade?
