From: BGen Baron Renald leBlanc
To: LtGen le Duc Coward de Custaad

 Greetings

Thank you again for your kind and prompt response. To answer your question,
I certainly believe that an objective and impartial view of my situation
and
dismissing the remnants of this whole sorry affair are not mutually
exclusive. I had evidence of misconduct which I brought to trial and the
express instruction of the King. His Majesty then decided that the evidence
was not enough to convict. His Majesty's wisdom is enough for me.

I have, on several occasions, attempted to reconcile with Duc de
Mylcondonnai -- with whom I would have to work should I continue in His
Majesty's service. I have offered to simply put the matter behind us. I
have
offered the chance to preserve honor on both sides. I have offered almost
everything but my head on a platter - all to no avail. Duc deMylcondonnai
has repeatedly said he would spare no effort in making sure he had his
revenge on me. I have no doubt he would do so -- he has already driven one
Duc from Metropolitan France and pretty much away from service to the King.

While I must admit my disappointment in your decision to withdraw your
application to the Ministry of State, I would still appreciate your
thoughts
on the matter. As I have repeatedly said before, I stand ready to put this
whole affair behind us and continue forward in service to our King. I would
be greatly in your debt if you could help resolve this impasse.

 Renald leBlanc
