As you know, Duc von Fersen has recently returned to Paris after serving His Majesty on a secret mission. I propose that my staff issue a statement [signed by me, of course] to the effect that "recent information provided as part of Duc von Fersen's previous secret mission have assured me that Duc deMylcondonnai's actions were part of His Majesty's continuing political maneuvering and not, in fact, treason. While it strengthened his charade, I apologize for the inconveniences I caused him while serving as Commissioner." In exchange for this, I would, of course, expect not to have any visits from Baron Ho or any of his successors as Commissioner.
