I've got a good reply from a bidder that has a good history:
http://www.codefire.in/
http://www.vworker.com/RentACoder/DotNet/SoftwareCoders/ShowBioInfo.aspx?lngAuthorId=6755779

Copying the discussion here so you can have a look if you're interested.
If it's ok for everyone, I'll accept the bid.

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed description.
We are still going through the
complete application, however we
have a couple questions.

1. The application will be developed
in PHP? Do you think some parts need
to be developed in Flash?

2. I believe it will be a iFrame
based application and not FBML.
Please confirm.

We are still going through the
complete description of game and
will get back in case we have any
questions.

Thanks,
Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Thanks for your message, and for
taking the time to review the
specifications.

For your questions:

1) Yes, the development is in
PHP/Ajax - no Flash.

2) That's correct - it is
Iframe-based and not FBML.

Let me know if you have any other
question!

Thanks,
Xavier.

Hi again,

I visited your website in the
meantime, and I noticed this page:

I'm glad you like Open Source, as we
are an open source video game
studio :)

Looking forward to your bid,

Xavier.

A bid in the
amount of
$1,500.00 (USD) was posted by CodeFire Technologies Pvt Ltd (the worker).

Hi Xavier,

Thanks for the message.

We have broadly understood the game
application and should be able to
develop it in about 30 working days.
There are some points that will need
to be discussed after the project is
awarded, I assume that you will be
available via skype or some other IM
to discuss the project. I also
assume that all the design related
to the project will be provided by
you.

1. Some parts of the project, if
infeasible as discovered during the
development of the project, due to
technical limitations on FB side or
any other will need to be altered.

2.I assume that currently we will
only be working on the application
and shall store the application in
our local svn repository during
development. Once delivered it can
be stored in Launchpad etc.

3. We shall use either cakePHP or
Symfony or similar PHP framework for
development

4. We have not used
http://siliconforks.com/jscoverage/
and will check to see how we can use
this with the project

5. Unit testing:- test coverage will
have to be checked as we have not
implemented unit testing with FB
applications and will have to check
up to what extent that is possible.

6. We have not used windmill tests
and are not sure if they will work
with FB app, please confirm that we
need to create testes using
windmill, in that case please
confrim if its okay that we provide
the estimate of creating these tests
seperately once we know the effort.

7. We understand that the
application needs to support i18n,
as described above we may use some
standard framework to develop the
application, hence will use support
of the same framework for i18n.

8. All player actions are logged in
a table in the database, along with
all the relevant contextual
information: date/time, username,
action, result, game id, etc.
We shall define these during
designing of the application and
will get approval from you before
coding.

9. Please explain the below points
All server pages/URLs and user
actions are tagged using Open Web
Analytics.

Best!
Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Thanks for your reply! Here are some
details related to your points
above:

> We have broadly understood the

The bid and the delay are fine -
thank you.

For communication, it's an important
topic for us, so let me explain a
bit how we work, so you can tell me
if this would be ok for you.

Since we are an open source studio,
all discussions happen on a public
mailing-list. If we work together,
we would subscribe you to this
mailing-list, and use it as the main
way to communicate (we can of course
copy the main informations vWorker
to ensure decisions are properly
documented).

In pure open source fashion, we
would need to interact directly with
the developer - I hope it's ok for
you. This means that the developer
working on the project would need to
be fluent in English, and be willing
to interact openly with the other
members of the project. The
mailing-list can be high traffic on
some days (1-20 emails per day), but
most of the emails can be quickly
skimmed. Basically the communication
requirements for the developer would
be:

* Answer emails on the
mailing-list/forum that are
addressed to him within 24 hours
* Post daily reports to allow to
follow the project's progress
* Be present in the chat at
http://farsides.com/chat/ during
business hours, to be able to
quickly solve an issue if necessary

Let me know if that's ok with you!

> 1. Some parts of the project, if
infeasible as discovered during the
development of the project, due to

any other will need to be altered.

Yes - when something is impossible
we can find solutions together, to
match the original specifications as
much as possible.

> 2.I assume that currently we will
only be working on the application

our local svn repository during
development. Once delivered it can

Is there a specific issue that would
prevent you from commiting to the
Launchpad repository during
development? We found it's much
easier to follow the development
this way - we do code reviews, so
it's easier if it's done
progressively rather than
discovering issues at the end.

> 3. We shall use either cakePHP or
Symfony or similar PHP framework for
development

Yup, fine with me - as long as we
both agree on the framework, and
that it allows to fullfill the
project requirements, it shouldn't
be an issue.

> 4. We have not used

this with the project

No worries - some of the project
contributors have extensive
experience with the framework and
unit test, you should be able to get
help if you are stuck or have
questions.

> 6. We have not used windmill tests

windmill, in that case please

They should work - basically
Windmill tests are just automated
actions/clicks performed through a
browser, so they should work with
Facebook applications. But same
thing - if you're stuck, ask for
help, we'll try to come up with a
solution together.

> 7. We understand that the
application needs to support i18n,
as described above we may use some
standard framework to develop the
application, hence will use support
of the same framework for i18n.

To handle translations we use
Launchpad, to allow our contributors
to easily provide translations in
their own language. We thus need the
translation files to comply with the
Launchpad requirements as described
in
https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/YourProject/ImportPolicy?action=show&redirect=Translations%2FImportPolicy#Technical%20rules
otherwise it would hinder the translation process. But as long as those
policies are observed, using the framework's i18n support is fine.

Perfect.

>9. Please explain the below points
"All server pages/URLs and user

Sure! We use Open Web Analytics
to track our traffic and the action
of the users. It's an open-source
alternative to solutions such as
Google Analytics - let me know if
you need additional details there.

And if you have any other question
or observation, let me know!

Xavier.

We are fine with the points
mentioned here and are ready to go
ahead with the project.

Best!
