Hi,

It was really good to have the Mozilla Game contest deadline, and I'm
thinking of ways to replicate the experience by finding similar
deadlines.

There are plenty of conventions during the summer (June-August), so it's
easy to find something to attend that would give us a good deadline
there. I think the four following conventions would be interesting for
us to attend:
      * Aug 17-21: Gamescom
        http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/home/index.php (the
        main video games event)
      * July 7-10: GC Online http://www.gamesconvention.com/en/ (instead
        of the Gamescom if GCO is not solely focused on developers this
        year)
      * July 9-14: RMLL http://2011.rmll.info/ (French Free Software
        convention - would be good to propose a conference there)
      * July 21-24: FISL http://softwarelivre.org/fisl11 (Brazilian Free
        Software convention - same thing, a conference there would be
        great)

This would give us a big deadline for the beginning of July, with some
time to refine mistakes for the Gamescom if we go there rather than to
the GCO (which I think would be the case).

However, July is still in four months, so I'd like to find an
intermediary deadline, within two months. There are no interesting
conventions or contests that I know of between March and June, so it
looks like we'll need to come up with our own deadline : )

I was thinking about Otavio's idea, of showing the game on tablets,
either in the streets or in an event that is not directly about
videogames. To make this a hard deadline, we could try to do it well -
if you like the idea I can try to see if I could find someone who would
be willing to organize this (unless someone here would like to do it?).

Let me know what you think about all this - ideas welcomed!

Xavier.
