Hi Deborah

Indeed, animated pngs are not sufficiently developed as a standard to be a
reliable solution.

Also, the javascript solution you gave me isn't working very well in all
browsers.

However I came across this:
http://www.squaregoldfish.co.uk/software/animated-png/example/

This basically takes a series of individual pngs and animates them.

So in this scenario you will have to send me an individual png for each
frame of an animation.

Please look at it and if you think it will work send me the frames for just
one animation so I can test it in the game

Thank you

Vlad

Subject: Re: [HackIt Bar] [Hackit] graphics implementation

Hi Vlad,

I'm having some problems with the animated gifs:

- The quality of the final gifs I'm sending to you are not good. This is
because when we use an animation with shades of colors, the gif convert the
colors simplifying them and this needs to be corrected in Photoshop. To
correct them on Photoshop, I have to go frame by frame, on each animation
and correct each pixel that its not on the right color, so its taking
forever.

- Even if I do this, the final file doesn't have a good feeling as a result
and the shades of transparency is lost.

We have 2 options: We keep doing this and its going to take a long time and
the result won't be the best we can have or we need to use png that supports
the shades of transparency and keeps the original colors and feeling of the
design.

The only issue with png is that animated pngs are not well supported, only
in Firefox and Opera.
I saw this site where they seem to have a solution with Java Script:
http://devthought.com/projects/mootools/apng/

Can you have a look and tell me if its possible to do something like this?
I'm sending you a zip file with the difference between an animated png and
an animated gif.
I think you'll agree with me which one is better! :P

I'm waiting for you feedback! And of course, if anyone else has a better
solution, feel free to help us :)
And sorry Vlad if I'm causing you more trouble... but if we can do this with
pngs, the result will be amazing!

Thanks

Deborah.
