I'd rather send it on a specific topic whenever there is a need IMHO -
better receive 2-3 short emails as-it-happens than one bigger
"newsletter" every week IMHO.

Yup, would be good to have some help! At the beginning I'd rather start
it though, it usually works better to have one person taking ownership
for this type of task and others giving comments or suggestions. Then we
can split it once we think the formula is right. Would that be ok for
you?

Yup!

One other thing I'd add to the list - emailing a list of the tasks each
subscriber can contribute to, when the question "would you like to
contribute more?" has been answered positively. I would probably take
the list from the wiki.

I'm an adept of the KISS approach - having simply "Farsides" is ok with
me. : )
