I tried to locally install HackIt on my machine and followed the steps on http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~hackit/hackit/trunk/annotate/head%3A/INSTALL
I met a few difficulties. Given that I'm new to this stuff, if Xav you can add some information to the page it might help other people like me. Here is what I found : * Installing php is not installing curl (at least not when I did it) so it might be useful to specify not only on line 15 but also on line 7 * Line 31, "you can create a new directory into your webserver's root or use the root as the directory" - Apparently it did not work for me when I created a directory below /var/www, it worked when the root of the webserver was the directory * The examples, like line 48 to 64, are obviously very useful... * Line 69, editing .htaccess, I was not very clear on what to do * Line 78, proxy, I did not understand what had to be done To be continued when I setup the test environment (step 6).
