Yep, it would be interesting to run a test for that, and I like the
suggestion of basing it on two parts : ideas on the overall story and
description of a few missions.
In order to broaden the list of people who could participate in this test,
we could post an offer on Gamasutra, AFJV (a french based gaming site), etc.
For us to be ready to do this, I've prepared a draft of the offer, please
let me know how to improve it :
- Overview :
We are currently developing a web based game, comprised of a mix of
adventure and simulation, that uses the real web as a playground. It is an
open source project, funded by a studio that will be created this summer,
FarSides.
The game takes place in a sci-fi context, but is aimed at a target that
is not specifically hardcore, and in the current conception phase, we are
looking for some help from a talented writer who can help us define the
context of the game.
- Job : free-lance video game writer
- Job desc :
We are looking at a free-lance mission that will include the definition
of a context for the game and the writing of some missions that are given to
the player through the game.
Given that we follow an open source model, all the discussions take place
with the community on a mailing-list. And it's a decentralized studio,
everyone works remotely !
We are looking for someone who ideally has a previous experience in
writing for video games. He should be passionate about online games and
contemporary science-fiction that explores social and political issues. And
he should be fluent in English.
- Job details :
- Platform : PC
- Work site : remote
- Contact information :
- contact name : David Blanchard
- email : [email protected] (mailing list of the project)
