Hi, here are the main things we discussed during the call this morning :
1) Objective for the coming week is to catch up as much as possible with the current iterations : The objectives are the following - Vlad you'll try to confirm tonight that these objectives are feasible for next thursday night : - today (friday) : finish the 1.2 (integration of AjaxIM) - until monday end of day : finish the 2.0 (integrate Xav comments on code review that he'll do today) + update unit tests + bug 612470 - until thursday end of day : try to finish the 2.1 (frontend missions + 3 bugs), to be confirmed at the end of day today by Vlad 2) Update of weekly iteration process so that it's easier for Vlad to estimate the duration of tasks : Vlad explained that it is difficult for him to forecast the duration of tasks, for instance because he needs to deal with things he did not work on before and with third parties. It is very understandable that the process needs to be adapted in order to take this into account. So the way to improve things could be to discuss and agree on the tasks of the next iteration before the thursday, and then on friday Vlad can take a day to do some research in order to assess if things can be done in time. If not, a discussion can take place at the end of day on friday to adapt the objectives of the iteration. 3) AjaxIM : While working on the integration of AjaxIM, Vlad is going to assess what can be done on our side and what should be changed in AjaxIM itself. Once this is clear, a new discussion can happen with Joshua. 4) next iterations after the current week : For the next iteration (that will start on friday 24th), it will either be the OO structure or the sims like gameplay, it will be discussed on the ml in the week to come. 5) Not discussed during the the call - additional proposal for the next friday calls Vlad, in the future i think i can improve the weekly meeting by using it less for planning purpose and more for discussion on what went fine and what went wrong according to you during the week, in order to improve things. The discussion regarding the planning could happen mostly on the ml because it can be more effective, and then on the friday call, you could try to list 3 things that went well and 3 things that went wrong during the week - what do you think :) Do you want to try that for next friday's call ? For instance in the call this morning, when you mentioned the issue with estimating the time, this is the kind of added value that we can have from the weekly meeting. thx, D
