The third should coming around this season. Guys, I'm writing this email to you, all of you, to ignite the 3rd time of our barcamp in Bangkok.
Refer to long-time-ago-conversation our tentative date of Barcamp Bangkok III is March 21st - 22nd, 2009, 8 weeks from now. It's time to start planning, chatting and donating our power into the camp. First of all, the most difficult one, selecting a venue should be started. The first condition of the venue selection is the same to the previous 2 camps:- - Be able to handle 500+ people at a time. - Air flow, environmental friendly. - At least 8+ rooms available. - Electricity, Internet available. - FREE. For this time, some of our campers suggested that, this time, we should try overnight Barcamp, and that leads us to the new condition:- - Be able to stay overnight. Well, to me, I'm ok with both 2 separated days, like the second one, or overnight Barcamp. But both of them have Pros and Cons Overnight Barcamp:- Pros: - Staying overnight is a lot more fun, lay down on the same floor with cool people is totally cool. - People can build a strong connection by eating the same food at the same place. - FUN! Cons: - Difficult to find the venue. - Due to venue limitation, it might not available for EVERYBODY. 2 separated days Barcamp:- Pros: - Widely available to EVERYBODY. - Easy to find the venue. - STILL FUN! Cons: - Less PEOPLE connection. So, barcampers, please share your idea about these two options, we should finalise this ASAP, then we can go-ahead for venue selection. I will separate another email for style/venue selection. Another very-important thing is sponsorship. We should start scouting sponsor right the way, any kind of sponsorship is welcome! :-D Anything else? Please add.
