At the same time, the more easy reproduction of immaterial products, including of product designs, challenges traditional business models based in intellectual property rents. Various companies have been experiment with new business models taking these new realities into account. The workshop will introduce peer production in general, open business models in particular, while also giving a sense of the role of social media in knowledge management and in the creation of new "Entreprise 2.0"-based participatory dynamics. We will look at the emergent practices of open design communities.
