searched through the manual again i read the following and remembered your post.
Maybe that is a solution for you. You can test the job without writing data but
testing your mail commands and more.
If your are testing your configuration, but don’t want to store the backup
data, it is possible to use a dummy
FIFO device to test your configuration, see Stored configuration.
Obviously, it can not be used to do a restore.
