Hi,
as to my knowledge, the compatible=yes flag just "deactivates" the
bareos extended functions for this client and affects only this one. But
maybe Philipp can say more.

Hi,
Just a suggestion, the "compatible=yes" is activated in bareos-dir ?

Hello Nico,
we are using clients down to bacula 2.4.4 with bareos 14.2.2 and they all work.
So you seem to have a different problem.
Best regards and good luck!

Hello,
on the official pfSense packages repo there is a bacula-fd packet available.
I configured it the right way, but I´m not able to connect with my bareos-dir.
Error message:
"19-Jän 01:27 Media-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: Unable to authenticate with File daemon at
"10.1.0.1:9102". Possible causes:
Passwords or names not the same or
Maximum Concurrent Jobs exceeded on the FD or
FD networking messed up (restart daemon).
Please see
http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#AuthorizationErrors
for help."
I checked the names, ips and passwords and over telnet I´m able to reach all
components in both ways.
So is this old client compatible with the new dir?
greetings
Thanks Phillip for the explanation! :)
Does the compatible=yes option in the dir config affect the new bareos clients?
greetings
