There is no included "bare metal" restore in Bareos, yes. But you can "easily" replace a failed Windows OS with booting another Windows from seperate disk and Bareos FD installed and restore c:\ of the failed machine to a spare drive. Then remove the restore Windows disk and you are ready to go. This even works for applications like MS-SQL server and the like which keep their files open all the time. The only drawback is that you should not split redo logs and database files on different drives/partitions as VSS does only snapshot one partition at a time. You should also test this restore ahead of time to not get any surprises with MBR/GPT and the like, but that should be the case for any restore concept.
