that's not really true, you can still restore all files which have
changed within the last 8 days, even if you can't do a full restore at
each day in that period of time.

the Full backup may not contain the version of the document as it was
last Thursday, but your colleague may find that useful.

as for your question: I don't think it is available, but it can be
automated if you like.  but will it really help?  won't you just get
peaks and troughs in disk usage, and no actual change in the height of
the peaks?
