you need the "update" command (see
http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#ConsoleCommands)
to update the rentention times of existing volumes.

This hasn't changed between 14.2.2 and current, however, using the
current stable (16.2.4) is of course recommended, especially since
14.2.2 had a serious bug, see release notes of 14.2.4:
