Just to verify the passwords that you’re checking. I have often gotten confused
by these.
c:\ProgramData\Bareos\bareos-fd.d\director\bareos-dir.conf Password matches
/etc/bareos/bareos-dir.d/client/<client name>.conf Password

That’s the only thing I’ve run into with this error message other than SSL.

I just started migrating my bacula setup to bareos. I have an Ubuntu 14.04

Are you using SSL? That adds some extra complexity.

Something to try, leave bacula on Windows and then use bareos on Ubuntu. Can
the Ubuntu system talk to itself properly? Then see if it can talk to bacula on
windows, that should work. Then try switching out the windows bacula client for
bareos.

Has anyone gotten bareos working on Ubuntu? I have started from scratch at
least 10 times and cannot get bareos to connect to a windows client. It keeps
telling me that the Authorization has failed. The passwords match, the
director name matches,
the firewall allows the service (both on the Ubuntu server and the Windows
machine).

I have an older version of bacula running and it works just fine. Just can't
get bareos to connect. Is there any way, via log files or something to narrow
down what the problem is?

Any help will be appreciated.
