Hi Frank,

thanks for your fast reply!

Can you please give us the uname strings of your windows clients for
verification, see the command above?

sure - the output of "llist client=mywindowsserver-fd" is

Uname: 16.2.6 (02Jun17) Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Edition (build 9200), 64-bit,Cross-compile,Win64

Hi there,

in the "Clients" area of Bareos webui there is a nice overview over the
installed versions of the client filedaemons.
I was just wondering why the version number 16.2.6 is green (Up-to-date)
for my linux machines and grey (Unknown update status) for my windows
machines.

Thanks for helping
Stephan

Hi Stephan,

the uname strings had to follow a special format to make this feature
work, which was adjusted more or less recently with the major release of
16.2 in places where it wasn't already.

Some older client versions where the uname strings is not following the
convention can not clearly be determined, as a result those are labeled
grey in the client listing.

*llist clients

      clientid: 1
          name: bareos-fd
         uname: 17.2.1 (01Apr17) x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu,redhat,Fedora
release 25 (Twenty Five),Fedora_25,x86_64
     autoprune: 0
 fileretention: 5,184,000
  jobretention: 15,552,000

It's also possible you might have found a bug and the client uname
string is not parsed and/or compared to the remote release list correctly.

Can you please give us the uname strings of your windows clients for
verification, see the command above?

Regards
Frank
