I noticed that the docs for Always Incremental have volume use duration = 23 hours
in the pool for both the AI-Incremental and AI-Consolidated pools. Which caused me to wonder if Virtual Full and/or Consolidated jobs will read from pool volumes in the Append state? Or will they only read from volumes in the Full or Used states?
With on-disk backups, creating new volumes (really files) is essentially free. But I do wonder if there are other reasons for setting Volume Use Duration.
If Virtual Full and Consolidated jobs will read from volumes in the Append state, I don't see the reason for setting Volume Use Duration. Or maybe I'm simply blind.
