Sir,

IMO there should be quite a bit more information. I have looked at the docs and
I see no information anywhere like "This is how you interface Bareos to Amazon
S3".

The referenced file system seem aimed more for NAS storage than use of Cloud
storage. There is more info on using Bareos with Amazon VTL than anything and
although it is clear how to make the connection it is not clear at all on how
to minimize Amazon S3 storage cost with Bareos.

I am one of a multitude of people who is looking for a solution for home linux
servers because crashplan is getting out of the home market and this is the
best option I have found so far but there are a lot of gaps that need filled in
for those of us with no knowledge of Bareos and no knowledge of the intricacies
of Amazon S3.

For instance, one of the answers I am looking for right now is how to specify
use of Amazon S3 Infrequent access and Glacier archiving with use with Bareos.
There just doesn't seem to be any documentation on how best to interface Bareos
and cloud storage of any kind.

You are an expert on Bareos so it would be nice if you had a ditty that stated
"here is how to use Bareos to interface to cloud storage and mimic services
like crashplan, carbonite, etc.

I know for instance they use a concept of one full and endless incrementals but
besides how to actually get the data to the cloud we need to be able to prune
so as to minimize cost.
