I've been using Heartbeat of 60 between the components already. I found that the network administrator had made some changes to the router/firewall between the systems that wasn't supposed to effect them. However once he removed the changes, the problem went away.

Between the last successful backup and the first failure I rebooted both systems. Other than that, no changes have been made, especially to the bareos configuration.
