Hi All, I have a server running a Quantum Superloader stacked with 16 LTO-6 tapes. Earlier this year, the autoloader threw a hissy and had to go off to have a new picker fitted, which left us without a tape backup for longer than I'm comfortable with. I had planned on buying a second loader, maybe an 8 tape overland unit and hooking it up so if either of the units dies for whatever reason, the other can carry on writing while it's being repaired.
Is this practical or is it too much to hope for. The overland vendor seems to be certain that the catalogue would have issues.
