If you are using the python filedeamon plugin as described here:
https://docs.bareos.org/Appendix/Howtos.html#backup-mysql-python
I have also found it to be very slow but my databases are small and continue
using it. It feels like it should be faster and I’m not sure how to tune or
anything.
If you want faster and have the disk space doing something like the
make_catalog_backup script, which uses a pre-job script to run the dump
command to local disk, and then have a file-set backup that single file like
normal. I also use this and it’s much faster, but it’s more complex to pull
apart databases as I do a dump of all the databases and schemas into one file.
