There are several tools included with bareos that work with media. https://docs.bareos.org/Appendix/BareosPrograms.html#volume-utility-commands

But.

They do have their own limitation (for example, you can't restore encrypted files with bextract). And their usage is tricky.

So it's best to have your director backed up in some additional way that permits quick disaster recovery.
